Lucas Chianca and Justine Dupont claimed individual awards for Best Performance at the World Surf League Nazare Tow Challenge on Monday.

Nazare's Praia do Norte is known for its big waves and the morning's action didn't disappoint with waves reaching 50ft under the blue skies in Portugal.

Brazilian Chianca attacked the big lefts and produced a spectacular performance to top the leaderboard.

"It's an honor to be towing and be Kai's partner," Chianca said. "He definitely put me on the best waves of the day for sure and we did our best out there. This is one of the best performances of my life and I'm so stoked."

Pedro Scooby claimed second in the individual rankings, however the Brazilian risky exploits on the waves did secure him the Most Committed award.

26-year-old Chianca and teammate Kai Lenny succesfully defended their 2020 Best Team Performance title while Justine Duport of France defended her crown in the women's inidividual category.
