'Disgusting to denounce state government': Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij targets Manu Bhaker for her tweets, asks her to 'feel sorry'

Teenage shooting sensation Manu Bhaker, on Friday, took a dig at Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij and the state government for not fulfilling the promise of Rs 2 crore cash reward which was announced after she won a gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympics. In a series to tweets she had asked the sports minister for state, if the announcement was 'correct or just jumla'.

Retaliating to the Manu Bhaker's tweet, Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij took to Twitter to hit out at the 16-year-old shooting star.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the Cabinet Minister posted a series of tweets in which he slammed Manu Bhaker saying, 'It is disgusting to denounce a state govt which is giving highest awards in the country'. Later, he went on to affirm the shooter will get the prize as notified by him.

In another tweet, Mr Vij asked the gold medalist to 'feel sorry for creating this controversy' and 'focus on her game'.

Earlier, the young pistol shooter, hailing from Goria village in Jhajjar, posted screenshots of Anil Vij's previous tweet in which he had stated that the state government will reward her with cash prize worth Rs 2 crore for her performance and making the country proud. 

Manu Vij gained the attention of the country with her stellar performances in shooting ranges across the world, winning multiple gold medals in her maiden senior World Cup, Commonwealth Games, besides the first prize at the Youth Olympics.
