Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks will face off in the NBA on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 8.00 AM IST. The match will be played at the Roger’s Arena in Toronto, Canada. In their last five matches, Clippers have won twice, against Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers. They lost their first three games against Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers respectively.

Well Contested battle 

On the other hand, Dallas Mavericks have lost three of their previous four pre-season matches. They were defeated by Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings respectively. However, in their last game against Thunder, they clinched a 107-70 win. Hence, both the teams have a similar record. It is expected to be a well-contested match. The match will be broadcasted on Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 3.

Controversy 

Houston Rockets' General Manager Daryl Morey caused substantial damage to the NBA's turbulent relationship with China at present after he voiced his support for Hong Kong's pro-democracy protestors. The league has spent years and many millions of dollars investing in China, helping to build courts, giving broadcasting rights away for free and bringing its stars over for pre-season games. China makes up at least 10% of the league's current revenue, according to one analyst, and the country is expected to contribute double than that by 2030. The game in Toronto is expected to be attended by many protestors who are on Hong Kong's side, as the NBA is being perceived to be pro-China. It remains to be seen if the full game takes place.
