Harsha Bhogle Showers Praise On Gomathi Marimuthu After She Created History At Doha

Harsha Bhogle has been winning the hearts of all the Cricket lovers with his unique commentary skills since almost the last three decades. However, the 57-year old never fails to make his presence felt on social media as well in order to appreciate or criticize someone or something. The 'Voice of Indian Cricket' took to Twitter to appreciate 30-year-old middle distance runner Gomathi Marimuthu for having clinched the gold medal in the 800 metres event at the Asian Athletics Championships in Doha where she created history by winning India’s first gold medal in the women's 800m.

Bhogle said that he had just watched the athlete from Tiruchirappalli win gold in the 800m at the Asian Athletics, calling the feat brilliant. At the same time, the veteran commentator also said that he was very proud of her.

Gomathi who hails from an agricultural background took to running when she was 20. She managed to find time in nurturing her talent even during her busy schedule. She is employed with the Income Tax department in Bengaluru.
