Penang took control of their 2022 AFC Cup destiny after with a comeback 2-1 defeat of Pahang on Sunday in the Malaysia Super League.

The win moved Penang alone into second-place by a point above Terengganu and Kedah with one match remaining.

If Penang can defeat Terengganu at home in its final game of the season next Sunday, it will secure a spot in the 2022 AFC Cup group stage as the Malaysia Super League's second-place finisher.
