Plenty of chances

United had some legitimate chances in as early as the 28th minute where Andreas Pereira took a shot but Bernd Leno's gloves were too good for it to pass. Another chance came in the 42nd minute where Pogba made an aggressive tackle that referee let slide and ended up giving the ball to Marcus Rashford who got cramped for space as he took his shot inside the Arsenal area. Arsenal did not keep quiet as just a minute later, 18-year-old Bukayo Saka took a shot which was saved by David De Gea. United finally broke through in the 45th minute when Daniel James passed the ball to an onrushing Rashford who couldn't time his run for a shot. Rashford, however, kept the ball in and squared it to McTominay who struck beautifully from just outside the penalty area to give United the lead before the half time.

In the 57th minute, Aubameyang made some swift moves to get the ball through the defence and past De Gea's gloves. The referee immediately called it offside. But with VAR's assistance, the decision was overturned and Arsenal were credited with a goal. Soon after, both teams tried to break on counter-attacks as Saka, Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire, Rashford squandered their chances. Both teams settled for a 1-1 draw eventually.
