There was plenty of controversy as Singapore's Aleef "Hamilton" retained his eRacing GP Global Edition series title over Malaysian rival Naquib Azlan at a protest-filled final race of the season on Saturday.

Aleef and Naquib finished the season on an identical number of points after a contact incident between several drivers on the last corner of the final lap saw the defending champion ejected from the race.

Australia's Kalen Chin crossed the finish line first but then received a five-second penalty for contact during the same incident that handed the race win to Naquib Azlan, thus giving the Malaysian enough total points to draw level with Aleef.

In the event of a tie on points, total races won over the season decides the winner and Hamilton's nine victories in 18 races gave him the championship over Naquib's seven total wins.
