The Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday became the last major league baseball club to open their summer camp ahead of the planned start of the season later this month.

While most of the squad was on the field at Rogers Centre in Toronto, ESPN reported that several members of the team remained in Florida after at least one player tested positive for COVID-19.

The stadium was closed to media on Tuesday and the club did not schedule availabilities with players or management.

The Blue Jays are the only MLB team based in Canada and were given special permission from the government and health officials last week to train at Rogers Centre.

The team must adhere to strict COVID-19 protocols that include requiring players and staff to stay isolated from the general public at the stadium and an adjacent hotel.
