After a massive showdown at UFC 242, the Fight Night 161 is set to go live on Sunday, October 13 (in India) at 5:30 AM (IST). UFC Fight Night 161 will go live from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida with six main card fights and prelim bouts. After facing a loss against Valentina ‘Bullet’ Shevchenko, Joanna Jedrzejczyk's fight against Michell Waterson will headline the Fight Night. Featherweight veteran Cub Swanson will also step in the UFC Fight Night against the newcomer Kron Gracie, who has tasted victory in all his five fights so far.

UFC Fight Night 161: Main event overview

Former UFC Women’s Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is going up against Michell Waterson ‘The Karate Hottie’ in the UFC Fight Night 161's main event. Joanna hampered much of her reputation by winning just one of her last four fights. The Polish martial artist was undefeated until Rose Namajunas shocked the world by knocking her out for the belt. After losing in the first encounter, Joanna went for a re-match against Rose but got defeated again.  However, her upcoming opponent, Michell Waterson had a great run by winning all three of her last fights against Karolina Kowalkiewiccz, Felice Herring and Cortney Casey. If Michell gets to defeat Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC Fight Night 161, she can expect a title shot against Jessica Andrade in future.

Cub Swanson has lost all four of his last fights against Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar, Renato Moicano and Shane Burgos which will force him to step inside the octagon as an underdog. On the other hand, his rival Kron Gracie is yet to lose a fight. The Brazilian-American fighter is new in the MMA and has won all of his five fights. However, Swanson’s experience is going to influence the result of the fight for sure.
