Babita Phogat conveyed a hard-hitting message on the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The wrestler spoke about the impact the incident left in her mind and paid homage to the martyrs and conveyed condolences to their families. She also hoped government and the political parties come together to encourage the soldiers to give a fitting response to the terrorists and Pakistan.
In a video, we can see Babita saying in Hindi, “I’m feeling very sad since yesterday. I couldn’t muster the courage to speak about it, but I’m still trying, to say a few words in respect of the martyrs. First of all, I pay my homage to the martyrs and offer my prayers to the Almighty to give their souls peace and their families strength and their children hope. Along with that, I want to say that that today the entire country has come together to stand with the soldiers to raise their morale to give terrorists and Pakistan a fitting answer. I urge the Government and also the political parties that they should all come together to boost the confidence of our soldiers so that they can hit back at Pakistan. And the start to that will be through the traitors and the anti-nationals who need to be thoroughly investigated.”

Her elder sister Geeta Phogat had also tweeted her thoughts on the incident.
40 soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were martyred when a 70-vehicle convoy of 54 Battalion of CRPF on its way to Srinagar from Jammu were attacked with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion.
