Indian boxer Brijesh Yadav entered the Round of 32 in the World Boxing Championship after beating Polish opponent Mateusz Goinski in his first match.

India's 20-year-old boxing sensation, Brijesh Yadav, entered the Round of 32 in the World Boxing Championship (WBC), after beating Polish boxer Mateusz Goinski. Brijesh Yadav is all set to face Bayram Malkan of Turkey next. Earlier this year, boxer Brijesh Yadav won a silver medal in Thailand. What Happened in the Match?
The boxer from Rajasthan knocked out Goinski 5-0, playing out a clinical match. Brijesh Yadav's opponent Goinski seemed confident at the start of the match, however, his confidence soon slipped away as the powerful punches of the Indian athlete kept pouring on him. Later in the match, Goinski was left in a pool of blood and needed medical attention. With the win, Brijesh Yadav successfully made his way to the second round of the World Boxing Championship.

With his performance in the first round, Brijesh Yadav left the fans impressed, his aggressive technique and defence strategies lead to his win in the initial round. The Indian boxer started boxing in the second round of the match with all his might, he managed to continue pouring blows till the very end of the round. The match ended with Brijesh Yadav being declared as the better pugilist. Other Indian boxers like Amit Panghal, Kavinder Singh, and Ashish Kumar also won their first round matches in the World Boxing Championship in their respective categories.
The AIBA's (International Boxing Association) World Boxing Championship has matches scheduled under eight categories. AIBA is the sole body which governs all the boxing activities worldwide. According to the revised edition, the matches will be fought for 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg, and 91+kgs categories. Last year, Mary Kom brought home her sixth gold medal in World Boxing Championship. Currently, the Championship is hosting 450 boxers participating from 87 countries.
