China Open bans guest of Zhang Shuai's father after chaos in Beijing

As per reports, the guest of Chinese tennis player Zhang Shuai's father has been banned from the China Open championship after a social media video showed him beating someone in the VIP section of the spectator viewing area. Zhang had lost the match against German player Angelique Kerber. Meanwhile, the Women's Tennis Association has reacted by saying that the unfortunate incident is being investigated and resolved.

The incident 

The footage shows a blue-shirt clad individual hitting and kicking a young man courtside at a tennis match in Beijing, China 

The Women's Tennis Association which governs women's tennis has reacted by saying “The unfortunate incident which occurred after a match last night has been investigated and resolved. The individual involved, a guest of Zhang Shuai's father, will not be returning to the China Open this week. The statement added that the individual involved who is a guest of Zhang Shuai's father will not be coming to China Open this week. Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) too later reacted on the incident-

About Zhang Shuai 

The Women's Tennis Association, meanwhile has refused to divulge any details about the incident that happened on September 29 after Zhang who is ranked 35 in the world lost in three sets to German counterpart Angelique Kerber. Shuai has held a record in the singles ranking of world No. 23 which she achieved in 2016 and had a career-high doubles ranking of No.9 which she achieved in May earlier this year.
