Novak Djokovic described his record breaking achievement of spending the most weeks as world number one as 'probably his biggest achievement in his career' ahead of the Monte-Carlo Masters on Sunday.

The 33-year-old broke the record after he overtook Roger Federer's of 310 weeks in March, and has extended that to 316 since.

The eighteen-time Grand Slam winner was speaking ahead of competing at his first tournament since winning his ninth Australian Open title in February.

The Serbian will begin his clay-court season in Monaco at a tournament he has one twice, his last triumph coming in 2015 with victory over now-retired Tomas Berdych in the final.
