WWE teases huge return for The Great Khali; here's who he will take on

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) social media pages teased a massive comeback for The Great Khali on Wednesday. Khali has been out of the wrestling scene for over three years now and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year. At the age of 49 if he does decide to return to the ring it will probably be a one-off match.

WWE teased what they labelled as a 'dream match' between The Great Khali and Dilsher Shanky. At 7 ft 1 in, Shakny is one of the tallest WWE superstars to fight on their roster. And at the age of 30, he definitely has a long to go. Shanky has trained previously in the Khali's academy, Continental Wrestling Entertainment.

Shanky began his life at WWE at the Superstar Spectacle event earlier this year where he partnered up with Rey Mysterio, Giant Zanjeer, and Ricochet to defeat Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, King Corbin, and Shinsuke Nakamura. After that, he has teamed up with Jinder Mahal and Veer and they beefed with Drew McIntyre on WWE Raw. In the 2021 WWE Draft, Jinder Mahal and Dilsher Shanky were drafted to SmackDown. If Khali and Shanky do come face to face, it will be an interesting fight, to say the least.

The Great Khali WWE Career

Khali had a sensational run at WWE since he joined back in 2006. He fought and defeated the likes of the Undertaker, Edge, and even Rey Mysterio. At WWE Judgment Day 2006, Khali beat the Undertaker in less than 10 minutes and stunned everyone. In 2008 he was crowned the World Heavyweight Champion after Edge vacated the title. Khali held on to it for a few months before Batista laid claim to it. The Rey Mysterio fight was a sensational bout for the Giant as took down Mysterio in under five minutes. Rey was flying all over the ring but was unable to get a hold of Khali who just stood there with no care in the world. He finally threw Mysterio from the top of the ring and pinned him easily but that was the last notable fight Khali was a part of.
