Bangladesh Cricket Board Takes A Jibe At Pakistan, Clears Air Around Star Player's Availability

The Bangladesh Cricket team is all set to travel to India to play a bilateral series. There was a lot of speculation regarding the availability of Bangladesh's star player Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh Cricket Board has now confirmed that Shakib will be a part of the squad traveling to India and will be coming straight from the UK as he is currently playing County Cricket over there. Bangladesh will also have a preparatory camp for all players which will not be attended by Shakib.

Bangladesh Cricket Takes A Jibe At Pakistan  

While speaking to Sher-e-Bangla, Bangladesh Cricket Board director Nazmul Abedin took a jib at Pakistan after Bangladesh thrashed Pakistan in their recently concluded test series.

"India will appreciate Bangladesh more than ever. They will try to play with a little more planning. They (India) may not see Bangladesh the way they used to see before.

"I think India are a little stronger compared to Bangladesh . So whether we can play with the mentality we had against Pakistan , whether we can keep that going consistently, will be a challenge for us. The pressure we were able to apply against Pakistan it may not be as easy against India. There we have to be more consistent and show more patience. But self-confidence is very important.

"If we can hold it (the pressure), we have the ability to do good. Especially the power I saw in our bowling. If we can use it, then we have a good chance. We will dominate more than ever," said Abedin while throwing a bit of shade towards Pakistan and talking about Bangladesh 's mentality. 

The Shakib Situation 

Nazmul Abedin opened up in detail regarding the Shakib Al Hasan situation and his availability for the bilateral series against India. 

"Shakib will come to India from England to play. 

"For now we know this much and we want to keep it that way. There is no injury problem as far as I know. Hopefully, the whole team will be available. Shakib has gone to play County and I am hoping everyone else will be available. From September 9, the whole team is expected to practice in full swing," said Abedin while speaking to CricBuzz. 

The India vs Bangladesh series is scheduled to start on 19th September.
