IND vs BAN 1st Test: Rohit Sharma 's Team India is comfortably placed at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. India still have ten Test matches to play in their final leg of WTC 2025 with their first match coming against Bangladesh . Team India is playing Bangladesh in a two-match Test series and the first game is being hosted by the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Chennai Super Kings ' (CSK) home ground.
India To Create Unwanted Record If The Lose IND vs BAN 1st Test
India are favourites to win the series as compared to their Bangladeshi counterparts. Bangladesh on the other hand are running high on confidence having defeated Pakistan 2-0 in Pakistan for the first time. Bangladesh started the IND vs BAN series opener very strongly with Hasan Mahmud running riot over India.
Mahmud dismissed the likes of Rohit Sharma , Virat Kohli , Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill and had India under the pump. Apart from the World Test Championship, India also have an unique record in their sights which can be historic and embarrassing at the same time.

Before the IND vs BAN 1st Test, India have played 578 Test matches so far. Out of all the matches, 222 of them have ended in draws. India have lost and won 178 matches each. If India end up losing the first IND vs BAN Test, the number of losses will be higher as compared to the number of wins. As far as the WTC points table is concerned, it won't do much harm to India's PCT and they will still be comfortable placed.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first. This was a very brave move considering that they are playing in India, against India, but they looked to make the most out of it. On a Chennai surface, that has a history of assisting spinners, Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud wreaked havoc on India's top order and at one point in time, left them reeling on 34/3.
