In match number 17 of the Big Bash League 2023/24, Hobart Hurricanes squared off against Melbourne Stars. Stars won the toss and opted to field first. Hurricanes had a rough start as they lost Matthew Wade in the first over of their innings. Following that, Caleb Jewell and Macalister Wright accelerated the ship, but after getting the required foundation they could not capitalise on the start. Hurricanes lost their way in the middle overs however their innings were resurrected by Nikhil Chaudhary.

Chaudhary came in at no.7 and contributed a much-needed 32 to the Scoreboard. His brief knock came at the strike rate of 200. He hit 3 boundaries and cleared the fence twice in his quick-fire cameo.

One of his sixes came against Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf. As it was the death-over phase, the bowler was looking to bowl a tight length, but the timing made the difference, and the ball went over the deep square leg boundary.
