LSG Mentor Zaheer Khan Provides Update on Bowling Coach After Morne Morkel's Exit To Join Team India
Zaheer Khan was asked about the absence of a bowling coach from LSG. He gave a witty response, asking why they needed one when he was there.
Lucknow Super Giants have made the big move to bring in one of India's finest bowlers, Zaheer Khan, as the mentor. After Gautam Gambhir's exit, the LSG went through a slump as they fell to the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table. Zaheer's introduction to the Super Giants would help them elevate themselves and make critical decisions for the 2025 seasons. Interestingly, the Lucknow Super Giants do not have a bowling coach in their arsenal. The new mentor has offered an update on whether the franchise will bring in someone to coach the bowlers.

Mentor Zaheer Khan Addresses the Lack of Bowling Coach in the Lucknow Super Giants
The Lucknow Super Giants' bowling coach, Morne Morkel, has exited the franchise as he will now be a part of the Indian Cricket Team. He will be functioning under Coach Gautam Gambhir and will be a part of his coaching staff alongside Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate. At the RPSG event to introduce Zaheer Khan to the franchise, the mentor was asked about the lack of a bowling coach on the team. He presented a witty response, saying why do they need one when he is there.
"Do you need a bowling coach when I'm here? I will do everything that the team needs," Zaheer Khan said.

The Introduction of Zaheer Khan to the Lucknow Super Giants will bring a lot of opportunities and the veteran support they need. The veteran India pacer will be a part of the franchise's decision-making process and will also be a part of the off-season scouting and player-development initiatives. Zaheer has been a part of the IPL as a player and as a member of the management. The pacer was a part of the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). He captained the Delhi franchise and competed in his last season in 2017 and retired from all forms of cricket after that season.
Regarding the managerial role, Zaheer Khan was the Director of Cricket for the five-time IPL Champions, the Mumbai Indians.
