Mohammed Shami Labels Injury Reports as ‘Baseless Rumors’

Mohammed Shami has made it known that the report of him getting out of the contention for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy is completely "fake" as neither he nor BCCI has released a statement informing about his injury. Shami further highlighted in the post that he is executing the hard yards to recover on time and is still in the race for a spot in the Border Gavaskar Trophy squad.

"Why these type of baseless rumors? I'm working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. Shami's Struggle With Injury

For the unversed, Mohammed Shami has been out of action since November 2023. The India vs Australia World Cup 2023 final was the last time Shami featured for India. He battled an ankle injury during the tournament and following the culmination of the tournament he underwent a long recuperation period which has not yet ended.

Shami is one of the spearheads in the bowling attack. His inclusion in the upcoming IND vs AUS Border Gavaskar Trophy could prove to be monumental, as he carries the prowess of turning the match around in one spell.
