As the excitement for CPL 2024 builds up, the Barbados Royals' social media team decided to share a fun and light-hearted video featuring their star pacer, Naveen-ul-Haq. However, what started as a playful jab at the cricketer's well-known rivalry with Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli, ended with Naveen urging his team to find new material for their pranks.

Virat Kohli pranks bore Naveen-ul-Haq

In the video, Naveen-ul-Haq, who is set to represent Barbados Royals in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League, is seen checking his phone. As he scrolls, he stumbles upon reels featuring popular YouTuber IShowSpeed, known for his over-the-top admiration of Virat Kohli. Sporting a gloomy expression, the right-arm pacer quickly locks his phone, clearly fed up with the constant Kohli references.

The video continues as Naveen-ul-Haq walks through his surroundings, only to be confronted by a paper cutting on the wall with 'Ben Stokes' written on it. The name of the England Test captain has often been humorously linked with Kohli due to its similarity to an Indian curse word frequently uttered by Kohli on the field. Naveen pauses, shakes his head, and continues walking.

The final scene shows Naveen in his hotel room, calling the receptionist to ask on which channel he can watch the CPL matches. The receptionist replies, "Channel No. 18," a number that has become synonymous with Virat Kohli, who famously dons the No. 18 jersey. Upon hearing this, Naveen disconnects the call and says, "Bas karo yaar, ab kuch to naya dhoondo (Stop it guys, now find something new)."

Naveen-ul-Haq's frustration, though playful, stems from a storied rivalry with Virat Kohli that began during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). The two cricketers had a heated altercation during a match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow, making headlines for days.

Despite the tension, both players buried the hatchet during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in Delhi, where they shared a warm hug after India's clash against Afghanistan, signaling an end to their feud.
