Virat Kohli CONGRATULATES Jay Shah on Being Elected as ICC Chairman

Jay Shah has been receiving praise from all quarters since being elected as the new ICC Chairman and former India captain Virat Kohli is the latest to congratulate him. Kohli took to social media and send out a one-line message congratulating Jay Shah and wishing him good luck on his new job. Kohli's post on Wednesday afternoon for Jay Shah read: “Many congratulations @JayShah on being elected as the ICC chairman. Wishing you great success ahead.”

He was chosen uncontested Tuesday to be the International Cricket Council's (ICC) next Chairman. The 35-year-old will take up his responsibilities from December 1, this year. 

Jay Shah eyes to prioritise Test cricket being appointed ICC’s Chairman

After being appointed, the new ICC boss said he would strive to guarantee that Test cricket constitutes the "bedrock" of the game throughout his term during which he will also attempt to "dismantle barriers that have hindered cricket's progress".

The 35-year-old will hand up his present role as BCCI secretary to replace current Greg Barclay on December 1 for two years, the youngest ICC Chairman.

Jay Shah Statement

“I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council. I am committed to working closely with the ICC team and our member nations to further globalize cricket. We stand at a critical juncture where it is increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and introduce our marquee events to new global markets. Our goal is to make cricket more inclusive and popular than ever before,” said Jay Shah in his first statement after being elected as the new ICC Chairman.
