England are glimmering with hope as they have secured consecutive wins against West Indies to keep themselves in the list of cricketing giants. After coming off a challenging red-ball outing against India, the Three Lions have been roaring while at home as they claimed a win over the visiting West Indies in their second Test match. While the first test was a memorable affair because of the retirement of James Anderson, the second match-up helped the team elevate themselves in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. England cricket has risen from the Ashes to take a significant leap in the WTC Standings.

After securing a dominant win over West Indies at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottingham, United Kingdom, England has jumped up three spots in the World Test Championship Standings for the 2023-25 season. The English side was at the bottom after being defeated by India by 1-4 in the five-match series. But the strong wins against West Indies allowed them to resurface and elevate from the bottom.
England bagged some vital points after their showcase at Lord's and Trent Bridge. The Updated Standings feature them at number six in the table, with five wins, six losses and a draw, taking their points count to 45. West Indies now stand at the bottom, with Bangladesh and South Africa above them. Team India currently holds the top spot, with Australia and New Zealand grasping positions two and three, respectively.

England's Bazball approach came into full effect against West Indies as they broke the record to reach the fastest fifty on the first day of the second test match. The English batters came in strong, as they contributed 400+ runs in both innings. The bowling was also effective as they put up strong as the young sensation Shoaib Bashir scalped a fifer to end it all for the West Indies and allowing them a 2-0 lead in the three-match red-ball series. Heading into Edgbaston, England will be the clear favourites over the Caribbean boys.
