Kylian Mbappe completed his Galactico move to Real Madrid last week as he was unveiled as a new Los Blancos player at the Santiago Bernabeu with a grand presentation ceremony in front of 85,000 fans.
Despite signing for Real Madrid on a free transfer, Kylian Mbappe is set to earn more than 30 Million Euros in wages annually. Surprisingly, Kylian Mbappe is still not the highest paid player in La Liga as he is pipped to earnings by a Barcelona star that is nowhere near the popularity of Kylian Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe surprisingly is not the highest paid player in La Liga. Forget even being second, Kylian Mbappe is rather the third highest paid player in the Spanish top division.
Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe will earn a reported 31.25 Million Euros annually in La Liga. In comparison the highest paid player in La Liga is Dutch midfielder for Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong who earns a reported 37.5 Million Euros annually.
The second highest player in La Liga is Barcelona and Poland's star striker Robert Lewandowski who earns 33.33 Million Euros annually in La Liga.
These figures sure do come as a surprise given that Kylian Mbappe is certainly one of the best players in the world and is extremely popular in comparision to Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski.
To give a context, Kylian Mbappe has 120 Million Instagram followers which is nearly 10 times more than the highest paid player in La Liga Frenkie de Jong's 12.8 Million Instagram followers.
Real Madrid fans will have to wait for the debut of their superstar signing Kylian Mbappe as he won't be available for the team until the UEFA Super Cup in August due to his involvement in the Euro 2024 semi final with France.
Kylian Mbappe is expected to debut for Real Madrid on 14th August, 2024 in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta FC.
