'Ronaldo Doesn't Work,': POR Manager Roberto Martinez Makes a MASSIVE Claim About Cristiano Ronaldo
Portugal Manager Roberto Martinez makes a massive claim about captain Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Portugal vs Scotland in the UEFA Nations League.
Portugal convincingly won the UEFA Nations League with a thrilling 3-1 win over Poland on September 13, 2024. An own goal from Jan Bednarek was the cherry on top as Bernardo Silva and Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal and guaranteed the win. Portugal had a flawless record in the match and clearly dominated possession and shooting. Having momentum on their side, star captain Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to shine as Portugal will now face Scotland on September 16, 2024.
Roberto Martinez made a huge statement about Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Portugal vs Scotland
Roberto Martinez, Portugal's head coach, complimented Cristiano Ronaldo on his outstanding professionalism and commitment. He pointed to his amazing work ethic and that the AL Nassr forward lacks the qualities usually connected with a 39-year-old player.
Martinez said in a media conference that Ronaldo is supposed to play around sixty minutes against Scotland on October 15 in the UEFA Nations League. He underlined that the great former Real Madrid player always tries to show up for every game that comes his way. According to the GOAL, Roberto Martinez said:
“I think the age of a player doesn't come to play. Ronaldo doesn't work as a 39-year-old player. He doesn't play certainly as a 39-year-old player. I think we are assessing every player and how they feel. Cristiano has been working really well in this camp.”
"I think the difficulty of playing two games away from home is more how can you prepare between the two games. How can you recover with the players? But I have no doubt that Cristiano after 60 minutes can be involved in the second game. I don't know if he can start or if he can finish the game. But he can certainly be involved as he showed in the last camp,"
Finding the goal in almost every game, the soon-to-be 40 Cristiano Ronaldo has been in outstanding form this season. Having scored in every one of Portugal's last three games, he will want to build on this outstanding run and is anticipated to do so after it has become a habit of the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner to prove his critics wrong at every stage of his life.
