Once India won consecutive bronze at the Olympics, the celebrations took off. It was a moment that was being celebrated by the entire country. But while that was happening, we all knew that hockey icon PR Sreejesh had thrown in the towel and we had already seen the last of him. The immediate question was - who will fill the big shoes and void left by Sreejesh? Days after the end of the Paris Olympics, we now know Sreejesh's replacement. Krishan Pathak, it will be. He has been named as the main goalkeeper for the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy in China. 

Who is Krishan Pathak? 

Krishan Bahadur Pathak is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a goalkeeper for the Indian national team. He is 27-year-old and could serve the country for half a decade, easily. 

Lesser-Known Facts About Krishan

# Krishan was part of the Indian hockey team at the Tokyo and the Paris Olympics. He was the reserve goalkeeper. 

#Krishan is also an Arjuna award winner. He won the prestigious award in 2024. He received the silverware from the honourable President of India. 

#Krishan is a Junior World Cup-winner in 2016. 

#Hailing from Punjab, he had his own struggles as his parents did not encourage him to take to the sport.
