Paralympics: Gold medalist Avani Lekhara, Manish Narwal, Rakesh Sharma & Mona return to India

Gold medalist Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal and Manish Narwal alongside Rakesh Sharma have returned to India from Paris.

India's Paralympic athletes who finished their campaigns in Paris have returned home. The India Paralympians arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India, to a large crowd of fans who had gathered to greet them. Superstars like Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal, Pranav Soorma, and others have returned to their homeland.

Gold Medalist Avani Lekhara, Silver Medalist Manish Narwal, among other Paralympians reach India from Paralympic Games 

Some of the Paralympics stars have made their way back to India following their outing at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France. Gold medalist Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal and Manish Narwal alongside Rakesh Sharma have returned to India from Paris. The Para-athletes reached the IGI Airport in New Delhi on Saturday morning. Celebrations are in full swing outside the International Airport as the fans and family ,members of the Paralympians dance it out to the melodious sound of dhols.

Para-archer Avani Lekhara was in conversation with ANI outside the IGI Airport in Delhi, India. She expressed India's campaign in the Paris Paralympics as a good journey and expressed delight on the contingent winning good medals in the quadrennial competition.  

"It has been a good journey and we have won many good medals this time," said Lekhara

India had a spectacular outing in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris after they achieved the ultimate goal to surpass the Tokyo Games medal count. In the 2024 Para Games, the Indian contingent have bagged six gold medals, nine silver and 12 bronze, which takes the total count to 27.
