The Paris Olympics 2024 is set to dazzle the world with its grand opening ceremony on Friday at 11 PM IST. Among the many highlights of this spectacular event will be the Parade of Nations, where India will make a striking appearance with a delegation of 78 athletes and officials representing 12 diverse disciplines.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA), led by President PT Usha and Chef-de-Mission Gagan Narang, has emphasized the importance of athlete participation in the parade. This inclusive approach aims to honor all athletes while acknowledging the needs of those who have chosen to focus on their preparations for upcoming competitions.

The parade will be especially significant as it will feature star shuttler PV Sindhu and veteran table tennis player Sharath Kamal as India's flagbearers. This marks a historic first, as both athletes will be the first from their respective sports to carry the Indian flag at an Olympic opening ceremony.
