Google remains one of the dream companies to work at for millions of job aspirants, from both engineering and non-engineering domains, across the globe. Now, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has outlined the qualities that a candidate needs in order to secure a job at the company.

Pichai, in a recent interview on 'The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations', said that Google is looking for 'superstar software engineers' who are good at programming and willing to grow.

"It depends on whether you're in engineering or something else...If you're in engineering, we are looking for really good programmers, people who understand computer science well and can be dynamic, willing to learn and grow, apply themselves into new situations and do well," Pichai said in response to a question on what is the best way to get an entry level job at the company.

"What we are really looking for are superstar software engineers," he added.

During the conversation, Pichai also revealed that almost 90 percent candidates accept the offer when they get a job from the company. "What I'm proud of is the metric I look at is when we make an offer, what percentage of people accept the offer?...It's almost close to 90 percent," he said.

On perks of working at Google

During the conversation, the Google CEO also talked about the perks of working at the company. One of perks that he highlighted is free food for all the employees. Pichai said that free food sparks creativity and creates a community.

"I think in technology, if you go in the Bay Area, I think a set of things, which Google has done as part of now standard modern workplaces in the Bay Area. But you know, people value in-person collaboration with us," he said.

"...it sparks creativity, it creates community. And I think the benefit that comes out of it far dwarfs the cost associated with it," Pichai said during the conversation.
