Amazon India on Wednesday announced the launch of its Artificial Intelligent (AI) enabled Automated Messaging Assistant in Hindi for its users to ease their online shopping experience on the platform
Amazon customers who speak and understand Hindi can now effectively communicate with Amazon's AI-based automated messaging assistant and get their queries resolved in Hindi without having to connect with an Amazon associate, the company said in a statement.
Amazon's Automated Assistant is essentially a chat bot which is powered by Amazon's customer service-tuned artificial intelligence platform. It leverages Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing capabilities for a "seamless and friendly" conversational experience for customers, Amazon said.
The conversation happens right inside the messaging window where the customer can naturally interact just as they would with a human and the bot seamlessly transitions to a human assistant within the same window, whenever necessary, the company said.
"With this launch, Amazon India aims to break the language barrier and provide a hassle-free support service to customers", Amazon said.
Director, Customer Service, Amazon India, Akshay Prabhu, said, "The new chat assistant in Hindi underlines our commitment to serve the next 100 million Indians to discover and shop with Amazon".
In related news, Amazon's Alexa voice assistant will soon be able to understand Hindi. Amazon Alexa users will be able to start speaking with Amazon's voice assistant in Hindi. Amazon has already started allowing developers to make use of a Hindi voice model to develop new skills for its voice assistant Alexa.
