The popular Contra action-adventure game could be launching in an all-new avatar for platforms like Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4), Microsoft Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. This is via a new listing on NetGames that indicates Contra for all three platforms.

Even the pricing details of the apparently new Contra have also come to the fore, as per NetGames, the Contra for PS4 seems to have a price tag of £34,95. Contra for the other platforms also has an identical pricing.

However, as of now, Contra in a newer version is yet to be announced officially by Konami. Nonetheless, the very mention of Contra seems sufficient to evoke nostalgia especially for the earlier generation of gamers having grown up playing Contra in the 1990’s.  The very first Contra was released in 1987. The game, undoubtedly, boosted the shooting action-adventure genre that is now a trend having more recently received a boost with titles like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), Fortnite, Garena Free Fire, and more.

Also, as soon as the speculated new Contra surfaced rumour mills went into overdrive hinting that the game could be apparently revealed at the E3 2019 that takes place in June this year. Then, the NetGames listing also seems to hint that the new Contra could officially be made available for pre-ordering from 24 September 2019 (translating the NetGames report). Here, it is worth noting that this may not even be an official listing as far as the release date is concerned. But, the listing does add to anticipation among enthusiasts especially at a time when the likes of PUBG, Fortnite, and more have been considered as competitors (by gamers). Would Contra add to this list? Only time will tell.
