TikTok app has been taken down from Play Store and App Store after less than a month since the Madras High Court directed the centre to impose a ban on TikTok for “encouraging pornography.” As a  result, you can no longer download and install TikTok app on your smartphone.

However, the government’s crackdown on TikTok exempts the existing app users. So you can still use TikTok on your smartphone if you have the app downloaded and installed on your device. But if you are trying to install TikTok right now, well, the app is not listed on Play Store and App Store anymore.

Apparently, Google search has seen a surge on queries related to TikTok particularly those where users are eager to find out different ways to install TikTok. The loyal fans of the app are already concerned about not being able to use the app if it is banned just goes on to show the popularity of TikTok in India. Not so long ago, TikTok revealed the app has more than 120 million active users in India.

TikTok is still available through third-party app listing websites. Third-party app stores like APKpure and APKmirror let users sideload TikTok APK file on their phone. Short for Android application package, .apk file is an installer equivalent to .exe file on Windows computers. Once you download this .apk file, you can manually install TikTok on your phone.
