According to reports, Facebook's in-app dark mode could be in works. Facebook is reportedly testing its dark mode for the main app with select users. From Android to iOS, the Dark mode has become a new fad and slowly but eventually, Dark mode is making its way into a variety of apps. Currently, social media and messaging services like Twitter and Slack has the Dark mode feature available.

Now, a reliable tipster Jane Manchun Wong says Facebook is working on Dark Mode for mobile apps. Jane posted a few screenshots of Facebook's Dark Mode. Jane says Facebook's Dark Mode is currently in "early stage of development."

Why is Facebook working on Dark Mode?

Facebook has been working on a fresh layout for their mobile app since F8 2019 conference. As Jane also explains, Facebook's mobile app looks almost bright and completely white, which could cause eye strain and fatigue. That is why Twitter has Dark Mode option available for both Desktop and Mobile.

Unreleased Dark Mode in Facebook’s mobile app for Android was spotted in the code. It confirms Facebook has recently started implementing Dark Mode into their mobile app. Apparently, Facebook has reworked only certain parts of the app to support Dark Mode.
