Yahoo Cricket has launched its Daily Fantasy Cricket game in India ahead of what it calls the 'big-battle cricket season.'

Daily Fantasy Cricket game allows users to customise their teams based on the Indian T20 league daily matches. Users stand a chance to win e-vouchers worth up to Rs 7,500 per game day in addition to tournament prize of e-vouchers worth up to Rs 100,000.  

Fantasy Cricket has been gaining momentum in the Indian market. It is about the game of skill that allows users to compete against each other virtually. Users can create teams comprised of ‘real’ players and players are awarded points based on the real player’s performance during an actual match.

"From merely following the sport, fantasy games encourages fans to develop a deeper interest and involvement in the game, growing overall engagement," said the company.

According to Yahoo, there are about 40 million users playing Fantasy Cricket in India and that number continues to rise exponentially. According to industry reports, the fantasy sports market in India is expected to grow to 100 million users by 2020.

The game comes loaded with features that create an immersive experience for fans. Players can create and manage their own game day cricket team, challenge friends to play and track who tops the leader board. It also offers a ‘corporate league’ option, amplifying the fun for larger groups.

Daily Fantasy experience is available on the Yahoo Cricket app for download on Google Play for Android. It is also available on web browser on both desktop and mobile.

How to play Yahoo Daily Fantasy Cricket

  1. Select 11 players. You have to choose a minimum 3 batsmen, 3 bowlers, 1 wicket-keeper and 4 players of any skill.
  2. Users can track players' current T20 league statistics in detail within the game.
  3. Users can get info on the ‘most selected players’ before a match day begins.
  4. Users can see ‘live points’ during the course of a match.
  5. ‘Top scoring’ players widget helps users understand the players who scored the most fantasy points for the day.
  6. Users can invite friends to a ‘Head to Head’ challenge by sharing a challenge code.
