Livspace has now announced offshore operations, and this new region is Singapore. LivSpace was founded in 2015 by Ramakant Sharma and Anuj Srivastava. The company provides a three-sided marketplace and a design automation platform which connects homeowners, certified designers, and vendors. This end-to-end service offers customers seamless home interiors and renovation experience.

Livspace's new forays

Livspace aims to organise the highly fragmented home interiors and renovation ecosystem – a common problem across the world. Canvas, Livspace’s proprietary design-to-installation platform, unifies and delivers value to the participants – including homeowners, designers, micro-studios and vendors. “Over the next 30 months, we aim to build Livspace into a US$ 500 million business operating across APAC and solve the renovation problem for tens of thousands of homeowners. Singapore marks the first step in our APAC growth and will serve as the headquarters for our global expansion,” stated Livspace’s CEO and Co-Founder, Anuj Srivastava.

On the technology side, Livspace has deployed data science enabled algorithms to match homeowners with designers. Homeowners, through the proprietary Canvas platform, see quick looks that give the look-and-feel of their dream home and the related e-commerce like a shopping cart of products and services. The company then assures the delivery of the project through to final installation, using technology for the overall experience.

“Singapore is a highly attractive market for Livspace - a US$ 5 billion home-design industry that is growing at 10% year-on-year. Singapore is also a representative 21st century global city, and serves as a great test bed for our technology innovations and launches,” added Ravindran Shanmugam, Country Head of Singapore for Livspace. “We are investing $30 million in Singapore to rapidly expand our business and grow our team.”

Over the next couple of years, Livspace has stated that it would onboard thousands of freelance designers, contract manufacturers, OEMs and brands to build the best e-commerce supply chain for the home improvement industry.  It would also invest in creating the first omnichannel experience in the industry using AR, VR and platform-integrated physical design experience centres. Outside of Singapore, Livspace currently serves nine metro areas in India. It has a network of 20 design centres and experiences apartments across the country. The company works with 3,500 registered designers and has designed 20,000 homes.
