The highly popular PUBG Mobile has now seemingly come under weird predicaments as a woman in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is said to have sought divorce from her husband as the latter would reportedly not let her play the game. This reason seems absurd and represents true addiction far as indulging in gaming is concerned.

As per a Gulf News report, that quotes Wafa Khalil Al Hosani who is Director at Ajman Police’s Social Centre, the couple fell out over gaming and this was even violent leading to the woman apparently seeking a separation, and she had even derived entertainment and comfort from the battle royale title.

Gulf News also states that the man was anxious about addiction (to PUBG) taking over his wife's senses and hence objected to excessive indulgence in the game. However, on the part of the wife, she reportedly stated that she was well informed about her gaming limits and was also apparently playing the game only with known gamers without turning on the chat option that exposes players to other players (strangers).

This is said to have created difference leading all the way to the wife requesting for a divorce. Now, is this PUBG Mobile’s fault? Is a question that is best answered by players for who it is desirable to indulge in safe degrees of gaming without neglecting essential everyday duties.

Agreed that the game has elements of violence within, but doesn’t it make sense for players to consider these elements as being purely in-game; nowadays, all major action titles have violence/gore but do not come under criticism like PUBG Mobile has. What is your take on PUBG being apparently addictive? In case you play the popular battle royale, do share your insights in our comments section below.
