Uber is said to be working on testing a brand new custom functionality - a much-required one potentially which is allowing users to tag a driver as 'favourite'. This option, spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, as peer ANI would be made available after users' current ride comes has ended.
Users would apparently be able to 'Add as favourite driver’ to take future rides with the same 'favourite' driver. This purported functionality could potentially boost safety among riders while instilling confidence that their trusted driver is with them - especially in times of emergencies/contingencies. This could be rolled out to the users as a stable functionality in the near future.
In other app-related developments, popular content aggregator app Flipboard officially acknowledged that an unauthorized user gained access to user database containing vital user details such as username, passwords, and even the email addresses. This reportedly took place between 2 June 2018 and 23 March 2019, and between 21 April 2019 to 22 April 2019.
Though Flipboard claims to have appropriately identified the problem and taken protective steps, you could reset your Flipboard password right away to stay safe. You should also be receiving notification emails indicating the same. Though it is not known as to how many accounts were compromised by this unauthorized access, but it is better to be safe than sorry – at this point in time. In this regard, if you are a Flipboard user, do not panic as the services would continue as before.
