WhatsApp Business now has more than 5 million active users

WhatsApp has announced that WhatsApp Business reaches the milestone of more than five million active users worldwide. Looking at WhatsApp's statement, it's pretty evident that a significant amount of businesses are using WhatsApp to generate sales and keep in touch with their users.

It's been a year since Facebook-owned WhatsApp introduced WhatsApp business, a standalone app focusing businesses and enterprises. WhatsApp Business has reached the milestone of more than five million active users worldwide, WhatsApp explains in their recent blog post.

Looking at WhatsApp's statement, it's pretty evident that a significant amount of businesses are using WhatsApp to generate sales and keep in touch with their users. Glassic, a Bengaluru-based eyewear brand, told WhatsApp that 30 per cent of Glassic's new sales are made, courtesy of WhatsApp Business.

"In January of last year we launched the WhatsApp Business app, and now let it support customers, grow their businesses and serve their communities all over the world," said WhatsApp in their recent blog post.

"We're excited that we've helped millions of businesses grow. For example, in India, Bengaluru-based eyewear brand Glassic has told us that 30 per cent of its new sales are generated through WhatsApp Business," WhatsApp added.

What's more, WhatsApp is bringing some of their popular features to WhatsApp Business, including quick replies, labels and chat list filtering, to WhatsApp Web and Desktop. Meaning, all these features will now be accessible via WhatsApp web and Desktop.

Quick replies feature can be used to respond to common questions. All you need to do is press "/' on your keyboard and choose a quick reply that you want to send.
Labels feature lets businesses organise their contacts or chats using labels. This way, they can easily find their contacts on the platform.

Another features called Chat List Filtering allows businesses and enterprises to manage their chats with filters so that they can sort by unread messages, groups or broadcast lists.
