WhatsApp says it has resolved the global outage issue that reportedly affected 1.5 billion users

Facebook-owned WhatsApp experienced a global outage on Tuesday affecting several users. In a response to Republic World's query, WhatsApp acknowledged the issue and said the problem has been fixed. WhatsApp explained that the users experienced issues with accessing the app and sending messages and it says the issue was resolved "within a few minutes".

WhatsApp being a popular communication app almost all over the world, it too no time for affected users who took to Twitter to vent their concerns for being unable to send or receive messages. Users from the UK, France, the Middle East and India were apparently affected by this outage.

According to downdetector.in, WhatsApp experienced an outage at 11:47 PM IST with over 4,000 users reporting the problem. According to outage.report, some users are still facing issues sending and receiving messages on the platform.

According to outage.report, recent reports mainly originated from users in the United Kingdom, India, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Romania, Turkey, Canada, Lebanon, Brazil, Mexico and more.

"Yesterday, WhatsApp users experienced issues with accessing the app and sending messages. The issue was resolved within a few minutes," WhatsApp spokesperson told Republic World.
