In yet another apparent case of classic Apple computers fetching record prices, a first-generation Apple-I computer designed by the iconic late Steve Jobs was reportedly listed for purchase. This unit, not a prototype, was also said to be in working condition. It had a premium price tag as well.

Now, as per a 9to5Mac report, that quotes an eBay listing (now seemingly taken down), this Apple-I machine was listed for $1,750,000 (Rs 10 crores nearly). This is first of all a vintage unit.  The Apple-SI is naturally a very early iteration of the Apple computers.

This listed device also featured a wooden case. Though, it is not known as to who purchased this computer, the listing itself does make for an interesting check out. This is because, of late, many vintage Apple computers have started getting platforms to showcase. There also have been buyers for some of these. Not only Apple loyalists, but also general Steve Jobs loyalists who consider the late CEO of Apple as their inspiration.

However, the usage of Apple-I computers in a modern scenario such as for office use or even general everyday usage needs to be verified on a real-time basis. This is because; modern-day computer usability is very different from that of the early days when computers used to be a luxury. Steve Jobs did give us stable computers, but also simplified their usage to a great extent. All of today’s MacBooks and iMac units derive inspiration from the ones that Jobs designed and developed.

In related news, Microsoft’s Founder Bill Gates had his life and work recently premiered on Netflix. This docuseries called “Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates” went live on Netflix last month. It can still be watched. The series was hugely popular as it analyzed Gates’ intentions behind his social and charitable work along with the technology revolutions he leant his expertise to.
