There could be a OnePlus Smart TV , in India by 2020 with the country being an initial target, followed by other markets. In case this turns out to be true, then the Smart TV segment dominated by players like Samsung, LG, Panasonic, and Sony; and disrupted to an extent by domestic names viz Intex, and Micromax; could face a situation similar to that of the smartphones segment that after a comparatively short period of time saw the emergence of OnePlus which turned out to be a leading smartphone player in India.
Now, as per OnePlus CEO Pete Lau who in an interview to the Economic Times Telecom hinted that the OnePlus TVs could come in 2020, with India being an early target market. Also, Lau seemingly heaped praise on Indian OnePlus users as he considered the country as another home in terms of revenues.
Hence, it becomes imminent that 2020 could seemingly turn out to be an year of true disruptions considering the fact that consumer electronics loyalists highly expect the commercial rollout of 5G networks with a sizable number of phones entering into manufacturing that year compatible with the new 5G wireless network standards. Now, with OnePlus’ latest statement of OnePlus Smart TVs apparently launching in India in 2020, there could be more than one consumer sector getting disrupted technologically.
In related OnePlus developments, not too long ago there were a section of users of the Chinese smartphone brand’s OnePlus 6T premium mid-range handset who stated that they observed sudden and rapid colour flickering on their displays while resorting to aspects such as unlocking the smartphone through the fingerprint scanner. Hence, with substantial time now having elapsed, this minor glitch could have been eliminated at this juncture. OnePlus may also have a patch in store for this apparently. Do check your OnePlus 6T handsets in case you think that the display flicker issue is bothering/bothered and share thoughts on the same.
