The Xolo Era 4X that costs Rs 4444 ($68) and Rs 5555($78) is now available for purchase in India. The smartphone comes in both 1GB as well as 2GB variants. USP of this smartphone is its Android 8.1 (oreo) operating system.

Amazon India has listed both the editions of the smartphone, and the e-tailer is also claiming to deliver the handset in one day for those ordering early. Here, it is worth noting that Xolo not too long ago was amongst the top smartphone brands in India; but the recent Chinese brand influx has seemingly diminished Xolo’s presence along with a host of other local brands which like Xolo had started finding preference amongst the minds of Indian smartphone buyers.

Also, the Xolo Era 4X clearly falls into the budget smartphone segment that of late has not seen a great number of devices to cater effectively to buyers; mostly first-time smartphone buyers and certain buyer looking at purchasing a secondary device to complement their premium primary handsets.

Xolo Era 4X offers the below key technical specifications:

  • 5.45-inch screen protected by Gorilla Glass covering; offering face unlock
  • Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system
  • 8 MP rear camera
  • 5 MP front snapper
  • Dual SIM-card support
  • Dual VoLTE support
  • 3000 mAh battery.
  • Amazon is also claiming to offer a 30-day money back offer to buyers, but the important question on top of buyers’ minds at this juncture could be “Is the segment relevant in modern circumstances that are seeing brands like OnePlus and Xiaomi dominate most smartphone verticals?”

In related news, Xiaomi’s Redmi Y2 has got a huge discount ranging up to Rs 3000. This price cut is applicable to offline retailers as well. Hence, if you are a Xiaomi
loyalist looking at procuring the Redmi Y2, this could seemingly be an idea time to resort to the purchase also considering the fact that offline stores would also resort to the latest price reduction.
