Taking cognizance of the growing pollution levels in India – particularly in Northern India – Xiaomi has launched its Mi AirPOP PM2.5 anti-pollution mask in the country. As is customary with almost all its devices, the Mi AirPOP PM2.5 anti-pollution mask, is also priced rather affordably and is designed specifically for India. A pack of two Mi anti-pollution masks will cost you Rs 249, and Xiaomi claims the pack can last for a whole month at a per day cost that is less than Rs 20.

For now, the Mi AirPOP PM2.5 anti-pollution mask seems to be exclusive to Xiaomi’s Mi.com/in online store although it is expected to be made available in the company’s offline Mi stores as well.

Xiaomi is particularly touting four aspects of the Mi AirPOP PM2.5 anti-pollution mask: 99 per cent PM 2.5 protection, 4-layer filtration, advanced air circulation vent, and soft and comfortable fit.

But more importantly, the Mi AirPOP PM2.5 anti-pollution mask has been “specifically customized for day-to-day use in Indian conditions,” and has “passed stringent international tests to ensure complete protection” according to Xiaomi.

Pollution is on the rise in India with Delhi witnessing ghastly levels of PM 2.5 micro-particles which can lead to short-term as well as long-term fatalities. From eye irritation to heart diseases. The Mi AirPOP anti-pollution mask couldn’t have come at a better time. Xiaomi claims its anti-pollution mask is made with 4 layers of high-tech filters to combat air pollutants including “seasonal haze, dust storms, cold and flu pathogens, allergic pollen, grease, smoke exhaust and contaminants.”

Xiaomi products are known for tremendous value for money. They are known to get the job done. The Mi AirPOP anti-pollution shouldn’t disappoint either, although we will have to put it to paces before giving out a thorough judgement. The price seems to be attractive, and so do the product’s touted features. But whether Xiaomi will be able to provide enough stock is something only time will tell.

Xiaomi also notably has the Mi Air Purifier 2 and the Mi Air Purifier 2S to its name. The Mi Air Purifier 2’s three-layer filter can treat 99.7 per cent of PM 2.5 micro-particles in just one hour, according to Xiaomi, and it does, depending upon the size of your room. The Mi Air Purifier 2S meanwhile comes with a slightly modified design with an OLED panel for viewing your stats.
