Xiaomi launched the 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air, its first laptop, back in 2016 and with it, the company tried to offer a combination of sleek looks and decent hardware - all at signature Xiaomi pricing. Down the line, it has updated the same laptop with newer specs, while keeping the rest of it literally the same. It is doing the same one more time - enter, the Mi Notebook Air 2019.
The 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air 2019 packs faster 8th-Gen Intel Core CPUs and up to 256GB SSD storage inside an all familiar all-metal chassis - that weighs just a little over 1kg. It supports fast charging (claimed 50 per cent charge in 50 minutes) and AKG audio with DTS Surround Sound. The Mi Notebook Air 2019 has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs 38,500) for the base version with Intel Core m3 CPU and 128GB SSD, going all the way to CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 45,900) for the top-end version with Intel Core i5 CPU and 256GB SSD. The Mi Notebook Air 2019 will be available in gold and silver colour options.
The Mi Notebook Air 2019 has a 12.5-inch full-HD screen and 4GB RAM, in addition to 11.5 hours of battery life. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port, HDMI port, USB 3.0 port and 3.5mm audio jack.
Xiaomi also has a 13.3-inch version of the Mi Notebook Air that the company has already updated with faster 8th-Gen Intel Core CPUs.
The Mi Notebook Air is widely regarded as Xiaomi's take on Apple's MacBook Air - only, it is much more aggressively priced in comparison. But Xiaomi is yet to launch any of its laptops in India - Xiaomi also has the Mi Notebook Pro to rival the MacBook Pro. The updated 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air 2019 is also exclusive to China and it is yet to be seen if Xiaomi brings it to more markets including in India in the days to come.
