Airtel Rs 599 plan offers 168GB data, Rs 4 lakh Life insurance cover

Airtel prepaid users subscribing to a select plan will receive Rs 4 lakh life insurance cover from Bharti AXA Life Insurance. The offer is applicable to Airtel Rs 599 prepaid plan. Apart from that, all other standard benefits in terms of 4G data, unlimited voice calls and daily 100 SMS remain more or less the same. Airtel Rs 599 plan details, benefits, offers

Airtel Rs 599 plan offers 2GB daily 4G data. Since it comes with the validity of 84 days, users end up with a total of 168GB 4G data, with the cost per GB of Rs 3.56. Apart from free, unlimited voice calls (both on-net and off-net), users get daily 100 SMS. Throughout the entire plan duration, users Airtel's prepaid users receive 8,400 SMS. Last but not least, it also offers Rs 4 lakh life insurance cover from Bharti AXA Life Insurance.

"The recharge comes with a validity of 84 days and the insurance cover continues automatically for three months with every recharge. The life insurance cover, which is available to all customers aged 18-54 years, requires no paperwork or medical examination and the certificate of insurance will be instantaneously delivered digitally," a joint statement said.

How it works

According to the statement, a physical copy of the insurance will be delivered to the customer's doorstep on request. A customer will then have to enrol for the cover after the first recharge through SMS. Benefits of the insurance can be availed using the Airtel Thanks App and Airtel Retailer.

"We are delighted to extend Life Insurance to our customers, who can easily avail it through our Insurance Bundle Recharges. In doing so, we are happy to partner with Bharti AXA Life Insurance to roll out this innovative offering," Vani Venkatesh, CEO Delhi NCR at Bharti Airtel, said.

Airtel has launched the service in select states, including Delhi. Airtel said it will be gradually roll out the service in the rest of the country.

Airtel Rs 599 vs Jio Rs 498 plans

Jio Rs 498 plan offers 2GB daily data for 91 days. Hence, unlike Airtel Rs 599, this one offers a total of 182GB 4G data, with the cost per GB of Rs 2.73. While the on-net (Jio to Jio) voice calls remain truly unlimited. Jio to other network voice calls incur 6 paise per minute IUC. It offers daily 100 SMS, which is 9100 total SMS within the stipulated period.
