Asus India is all set to launch the Zenfone Max Pro M1 successor on December 11. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and it’s claimed and tested to survive up to 15 consecutive drops from waist-height, as per the official company tweet. Much like its predecessor, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be up for grabs exclusively via Flipkart. Apart from these, Asus hasn’t revealed much with regards to its upcoming smartphone.
Asus Zenfone Max series has always been about big-battery smartphones. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a 5,000mAh battery under the hood. Once Asus launches the Max Pro M2 in the market, the M1 is likely to stop retailing in the market. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 was highly appreciated in the Indian market due to its competitive price and nearly identical specs to that of the redmi Note 5 Pro.
When launched, one of the key reasons for customers to prefer Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 over Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was fairly consistent unavailability of the latter due to Xiaomi’s most-awaited flash sales. Additionally, nearly-identical hardware specs and price of the Zenfone Max Pro M2 turned out to be in favour of the Taiwanese smartphone maker.
As per reports, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset, an upgrade over the Zenfone Max Pro M1 with Snapdragon 636 processor. However, Asus is also tipped to introduce the Zenfone Max 2 with the Snapdragon 636 chipset. Apart from that, both the handset are said to sports 6-inch 1080p screen and up to 6GB RAM.
As for the shutterbugs, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is expected to have 12MP + 5MP dual rear sensors in addition to a big battery.
