The BSNL Rs 1699 plan that has now got extended validity – from its earlier duration of 365 days, is now valid for 425 days in Karnataka. Subscribers should remember that it is not 455 days. The addition of days to the validity period is now 60.

The BSNL Rs 1699 plan

At this juncture, the other benefits of the Rs 1699 plan remain the same, These are free calls amounting to as many as 250 minutes per day throughout India along with free roaming. The total data offered, on a daily basis, is 2GB per day. Then, there are 100 free SMS messages in a day that could be sent for free throughout the country.

This plan is a long validity one, and is seemingly worth its price tag of 1699, with the only exception being that data offered would be 3G in Karnataka. BSNL has been issuing 4G SIM-cards to both new as well as port-in subscribers in the state. Full-fledged 4G services are slated to begin so – more rapidly so with the allocation of 4G spectrum now having been complete. BSNL needs to deploy its 4G network throughout the country now.

Also, there is another Rs 118 plan that is valid for 28 days. This offers free voice calls (250 minutes per day). The data offering is 0.5GB per day, and truly free calls to Delhi and Mumbai telecom circles which were both held by MTNL earlier (now the merger of MTNL with BSNL has been announced). The Rs 28 scheme is seemingly a good one for general everyday users as calls are taken care of.

In related news, BSNL was trending, after a significantly long period of time, on social media under the hashtags “IndiaNeedsBSNL”, “SwitchtoBSNL”, and “BSNL4G” respectively. These trends positively indicate the impending launch of 4G services across the country in a full-fledged manner.
