Other benefits of the scheme also include the likes of free voice calls up to 250 minutes per day. Now, voice calls to even Delhi and Mumbai telecom circles of BSNL – earlier held by MTNL – both BSNL and MTNL are now due for merger. MTNL would be merged with BSNL. This means that you could speak free of cost for more than 4 hours per day across India.

Then, as many as 100 text messages could be sent for free with the BSNL Rs 187 prepaid plan. Validity of this scheme is 28 days. BSNL is also letting subscribers, of the Rs 187 plan, set free PRBT. This plan is seemingly perfect for subscribers who work in the corporate sector and work with a phone in each ear. At this point in time, the official eRecharge portal of BSNL is displaying the Rs 187 prepaid recharge plan. You could also check out the nearest Customer Service Center.

In related news, IUC has become a bone of contention among telcos. Some telcos have stated that they would continue to pay IUC from their own pockets. On the other hand, Jio is already imposing the IUC on its prepaid subscribers. Remember that IUC is levied when calls from one operator to another are placed. The onward operator pays the recipient operator 6 paise per minute for every voice call. This amount is fixed by TRAI. However, Jio is also offering extra data for every Rs 10 spent on IUC recharges. The additional data offering starts from 1GB for every Rs 10 that users spend to avail free IUC minutes.
