  • Are you expecting new Google Pixel Lite mid-range series of phones?
  • Indian has a wider market and demand for premium mid-range smartphones

Google Pixel 3 Lite and the Pixel 3 Lite XL; both of which are highly expected by Google loyalists to cater to the mid-range buyers, in addition to the premium smartphone buyers, could now be launched earlier than expected in 2019. Now, all eyes are focussed on the smartphones potentially getting an India launch.

As per an Android Police report, both the Google Pixel 3 Lite XL and Pixel 3 Lite would be launched in the US on the Verizon carrier during the March-June 2019 time period. The Android Police report also throws light on both these handsets falling into the mid-range category. As far as their technical specifications are concerned, these details have also surfaced and going by what has come to light, both the handsets would have only minor difference in their key technical aspects.

The phones could come with 12 MP rear and 8MP front snappers; with 4GB RAM onboard and 32GB internal storage that could be fixed. The Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL could also be driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670/710 SoCs. The display is speculated to be 5.5-inches or 6-inches; in fact rumors indicate that the minor difference in technical specifications of the handsets could be with respect to their display sizes.

Here, it is worth understanding that there is a wider mid-range smartphone segment in India with buyers preferring value-for-money offerings over much fancier aspects. Hence, it makes complete sense if Google is to release the purported Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL in India after the US release (as indicated by rumour mills). The former market could also do with certain modifications in the network compatibilities; but it is indeed imperative for the Pixel 3 ;Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL to hit Indian shores. Do share your thoughts/insights on your readiness to receive Google’s new speculated mid-range smartphones.
