Honor 10 Lite with dewdrop notch, 24MP selfie cam launched in India starting at Rs 13,999

Honor is bringing the 4GB RAM/64GB storage and the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variants of the Honor 10 Lite to India

Huawei offshoot Honor launched the Honor 10 Lite phone in India on Tuesday at a starting price of Rs 13,999. The Honor 10 Lite is a lower mid-tier phone which is successor to the Honor 9 Lite from last year. Honor is bringing the 4GB RAM/64GB storage and the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variants of the Honor 10 Lite to India and will exclusively sell the phone in question via Flipkart from January 20. 

While the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the Honor 10 Lite will sell for Rs 13,999, the 6GB RAM and 64GB RAM version of the phone will be available for Rs 17,999. 

The Honor 10 Lite, like most Honor phones under Rs 20,000, focuses a great deal on design and AI selfie camera tricks. It comes with a glossy glass-like finish on the back, and will be available in three colour options, namely blue, black and one with a distinct gradient. The Honor 10 Lite has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dewdrop-style notch upfront that entails in a screen-to-body ratio of 91 per cent, according to Honor. 

In terms of core hardware, the Honor 10 Lite comes with a 6.21-inch 1080p+ display and a Kirin 710 processor under the hood with up to 6GB RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. Honor isn’t bringing the top-end variant of the Honor 10 Lite with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage to India at this point of time. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9 out-of-the-box and supports micro-SD card storage expansion. It is further backed by a 3,400mAh battery. 

In terms of optics, the Honor 10 Lite comes with a dual rear camera system consisting of one 13MP sensor and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, it comes with a 24MP camera.      

At its price, the Honor 10 Lite will compete with phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 and also with in-house devices like the Honor 8X and Huawei Y9 2019. 

In other news, Honor is also gearing to launch its more premium Honor View 20 phone in India on January 29. The main highlight of the Honor View 20 is its 6.4-inch 1080p+ all-view display made possible through a punch-hole (25MP) selfie camera setup. The Honor View 20 will be an Amazon India-exclusive, Honor has announced.
