Huawei offshoot brand Honor has launched a new budget phone called the Honor 8A Pro in Russia. The Honor 8A Pro has a lot in common with the Honor Play 8A which was launched earlier in the year – but it comes with a slightly bigger screen and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Honor has launched the Honor 8A Pro at a price of RUB13,990 which roughly translates to Rs 15,000.

The Honor 8A Pro comes with a dual tone finish on the back – it will be available in black and blue colours. It has a 6.1-inch 720p+ display with a waterdrop-style notch. The processor inside is MediaTek’s Helio P35 which is paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage which is expandable via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Pie based EMUI 9.0.

On to the cameras, the Honor 8A Pro has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The phone further packs a 3,020mAh battery and charges via micro-USB.

In other news, Honor is reportedly working on a follow-up device to the Honor View 20 with possibly even better cameras. The phone in question, said to be the Honor 20 Pro, will reportedly come with a 6.1-inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The processor inside is said to be Huawei’s top-tier Kirin 980 paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

The Honoe 20 Pro is said to come with a triple rear camera setup with a 40MP main camera, alongside a 20MP ultra-wide and 8MP telephoto camera. The Honor 20 Pro is said to have the same primary sensor as the Huawei P30 Pro, so that’s a lot to look forward to considering Honor phones are more affordable than their Huawei counterparts.

The Honor 20 Pro will reportedly be available in three configurations - 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB with prices starting at CNY 2,999 which roughly translates to Rs 31,000.
